It all started with the invention of the incandescent light bulb by Thomas Edison. The first lights were very short lived and were prone to darken. This darkening was termed the Edison effect. It was found that this darkening was the deposition of carbon onto the glass, except in the plane of the filament; where there was little deposition. Edison noticed that, with an extra electrode connected to the positive end of the filament, a small but measurable electric current flowed between them. He termed this device an Electrical Indicator – otherwise known as a rectifier.
These authentic reproduction antique light bulbs are the perfect item to complete your vintage radio project or room. These are painstakingly manufactured and detailed to work and look exactly like the light bulbs from the late 1800's and early 1900's.
Even if you don’t have any old radios, these light bulbs are just too cool. You can put them anywhere you want to add class and a nostalgic touch.
