JJ-KT66

This tube was not meant to be a copy of any prior KT66. It is a unique design based on the extremely successful JJ KT88. It uses the same plate structure and bottle that the JJ KT88 uses, but that is where the similarity ends.

These JJ KT66 new production tubes have a huge bloom in the upper-mids that is open, natural and harmonically-complex, just as the Genalex KT66s do. The low end has a deeply powerful response without the mush. We like this tube in just about any application that requires more power and headroom.

These work superbly in just about any amp, and are especially great in Fender, Mesa and Marshall amps.

    • The JJ KT66 is a very robust tube and sounds tighter, more powerful and focused than any other new production KT66 being made. It can handle more vibration and about as well. In addition, of all the vendors I have used and I have used them all, tube depot seems to have the most consistently in their matching. If you are looking for the KT66 VARIETY LOOK NO FURTHER!!

    • I like JJ tubes in general. The quality is always good. The price is decent. And they sound good. The JJ KT66 is right up there in terms of quality and the sound I get out of my amp. Worth the money IMO.

    • In a single ended amp wired as a triode it has a fuller sound than the other KT66s I've tried. It may not have quite as much of an airy high frequency as the Tung-Sol but the mid bass is stronger. There is still enough detail to sound clear. The warmth makes it easy to listen to for long periods.

    • These KT66s sound incredible. They have an excellent mid-range, strong bass (but not too aggressive), and decent highs. I've tried 6L6s, EL34s, and KT66s in my amp, and the KT66s definitely get the most use. They're a bit more expensive than the 6L6 and EL34, but they're well worth it.
