The Philips Miniwatt, Holland made metal base EL34 is one of the most desirable EL34 ever produced. Much of our stock is NOS (New Old Stock - Never Used) and has a date code of SYO / 55E, which puts their production date in 1955. Made just 10 years after the end of WWII, these are the King of the EL34. We also have some early Amperex branded tubes, also made in Holland. Introduced in 1953, the metal base EL34 was the first version, and some say the best sounding, of the EL34 / 6CA7 family of tubes.

Just like they left the factory in 1955, each tube is wrapped in its original kraft paper and corrugated cardboard with EL34 printed on the outside.

These have the original disc style getter. Due to the gettering materials used, tubes from this era have darker getters. This is totally normal and should be expected.

The date code stamped into the metal base shows all of our tubes to be from the same batch and date of manufacture - SYO / 55E - May 1955.
