  • TAD 7025 / E83CC REDBASE HIGH GRADE Selection
Powerful Gain. Warm,  Airy Tone. Zero Microphony.

PREMIUM HIGHGRADE selected quality for the most demanding amp stages. This tube works perfectly for warm, clean tones and creamy overdrive. We recommend this tube for the 1st gain stage and as an input tube for all applications. It upgrades any 12AX7A and ECC83 tubes and replaces E83CC tubes.

This HIGHGRADE Selection is the tip-of-the-top quality at the lowest noise (microphony, hum, hiss) level that provide clear and unobstructed highs, dense mids and clean, impactful bass responses. These tubes produce maximum transparency, depth and definition. Airy, silky highs combined with tight bass responses are the hallmarks of these tubes.

All preamp tubes labeled Premium Selected have passed the following tests:
-      Low Noise Test
-      Microphonic Test
-      Gain Test
-      Sonic Tests
-      Shock Tests
-      Listening Tests
-      Balanced Output Test

But only those tubes which pass these Premium Selected tests the best are labeled Highgrades. Typically, only approximately 3-10% from a production batch qualifies for the HIGHGRADE rating from TAD.

The TAD 7025 / E83CC REDBASE® can replace any ECC83, E83CC, ECC803S, 12AX7, 12AX7A, 12AX7M, 12AX7WA/WB/WC/LPS/EH, 5751, 7025, CV492 and CV4004. Also replaces the MESA® SPAX7-A.

  • This tube is a pretty standard, reliable tube. You'll find these stock in the V1 position of most Hughes & Kettner Amps. It is clear and natural. I wouldn't say these have a "sound" really, but since it is a premium grade tube it is hand picked to ensure your amp can run at it's best since the V1 position is the first tube your preamp sees. If your V1 tube isn't good then the rest that come after won't matter as much since they have to go through the bad tube first.
