Telefunken Black Diamond EL34
The TELEFUNKEN EL34-TK has been designed to handle a slightly higher grid voltage than the traditional EL34. Offering a tight low end and smooth mids, it will bring new life to guitar and hi-fi amplifiers while retaining the historic tone TELEFUNKEN tubes have always been know for.
The EL34 is smaller in diameter and taller than the 6L6 and is capable of a higher plate voltage; factors that help give the EL34 its unique output stage properties. The EL34 is a high output pentode tube as opposed to other output tubes like the 6L6 and the 6550, which are beam tetrode tubes.
Mullard, which was a subsidiary of Phillips, originally released the EL34 in 1953. EL34's are most commonly used in pairs in a Class AB1 push-pull configuration. This EL34 is found in many amplifiers that offer the "British tone", like Marshall and Hi-Watt, where the 6L6 is more commonly found in American made amps like those from Fender and Mesa Boogie.
Please Note: Telefunken Black Diamond tubes are sold singly. Power tubes will be supplied in matched pairs or quads. Just order the quantity you need. If you want preamp tubes to be high gain or matched, just ask during checkout and we'll get it taken care of for you.

I'm using this Black Diamonds with Ait Tight ATM3 amplifiers and they sound amazing!! (deep and controled bass and lovely midrange reproduction). Great tube for de price.

I have tried it on my Stax Grounded Grid and T2 Amplifiers. It is wonderfully clean with great layering, separation, Balanced tonal body. But it can not stand up to the legendary NOS Xf2 in the sense of depth and tonal realism

I used a quad set of EL34-TK in my British push-pull integrated tube amplifier, CR Woodham 1.5, with 18 W/ch in a triode configuration. The sound was deadly good, with full density and warm feeling on listening my classical music. I have compared this EL34-TK with other new production tubes like JJ EL34II and Mullard EL34, for which the TK tubes sound better than the others with the order TK > JJ > Mullard on my favor classical music. I also compared the structure of this TK tubes with my another NOS tubes, Siemens- Rohre, both are very similar. In terms of sound quality, of course the old Siemens is better than the new TK, but the difference is only a little on the low-frequency end. Overall, this EL34-TK tube has a very good C/P value and worthy to have a set to enjoy your music. Highly recommended!

I just got a pair of these along with some 6550s for my Triamp Mark 3. These are my favorite EL34. They are a bit pricy, but If you want natural and clear then check these out. They're not as thick as the JJ EL34 nor are they mid scooped like a Tunsol. They are honest, natural and clear.

If your looking for a more detailed sounding EL34 these are the ones. Very clear and airy, super quiet background. Great tubes
