NOS Western Electric 437A, Black Plate, 1950's, "D" Getter

With superior quality and a high figure of merit, the Western Electric 437A was designed and released in October 1956 for critical military and communication purposes.
We've discovered a small batch of these FIRST PRODUCTION 437A's from 1956 to 1958 that have black plates, “D” getters and are spectacular. As a rare and extraordinary find, most available 437A were manufactured in the 1970's and 80's. Our current stock, manufactured in the mid-to-late 1950’s, is the rarest and most highly coveted version previously thought unattainable. In fact, we've never seen this early of a production before. Packaged in original Western Electric factory corrugated cardboard sleeves, these are "The Best" 437A versions and won't last long.
We have some of the same FIRST PRODUCTION 437A's from 1956 to 1958 that have smaller or diminished getter flashings, but test as strong as the others. They are gas free and will work as well as any other 437A. These are discounted and are available by selecting the “Getter: Diminished (Subtract: $200)" drop-down option to the right.
Matched pairs are available. Please inquire at checkout.
Luckily, I purchased this pair in an on-sale occasion. They sound amazing in my single-ended tube amplifier using 80 as rectifier. The WE437A pair is used as output tubes generating 1W with high current (~30 mA). I used this tiny monster to drive my 15-ohm LS3/5a vintage speakers. You must to listen to believe it -- the incredible sound quality beats many big monster tube amplifiers. Highly recommend it to you if money is not an issue to consider.
