This tube replaced EH 12AU7 Gold pins. A good sounding tube that has a little more bite on the top end. Fist off, this is a new tube with the modern tube sound. Do not buy it if you are looking for that lush NOS sound. Look to something like the Mullard CV4003 for that. However, it is no slouch. It is one of the most accurate and natural sounding tubes on the market. Clean, quiet, with gobs of definition, and inner detail. Both male and female vocals sound wonderful. They are in your room.
